Tim Silva is a proud native of the East Bay. After earning a BA in music education and a teaching credential from UCLA, Tim furthered his studies at Holy Names University. For seven years, he served as Pre-K through Eighth-Grade music teacher at St. Leander School. Now he focuses almost entirely on choral music, both performing and conducting. He sings regularly with some of the area’s most notable chamber ensembles, including Volti and Gaude, and recently appeared as a soloist with the California Bach Society. He directs the Throckmorton Theatre Chorus in Mill Valley, and serves as an assistant conductor, voice teacher, and theory instructor for the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choirs. A versatile performer and collaborator, he has performed and/or recorded with Artists’ Vocal Ensemble, Briget Boyle, Cut Circle, Foreignfire, Katy Stephan, Kronos Quartet, Marin Symphony, ODC/Dance, San Francisco Symphony and many others.
